The present article gives account of the extraordinary discovery of a giant’s ring in a sacred mountain that was communicated to engineer Celso García Vargas in Ollantaytambo –about 90 km northwest of Cuzco, the capital city of the Tahuantinsuyo–.
The informant spoke about a pilgrimage that a group of locals took to a mountain associated to a lake where “the lights fall from the sky” and “before dawn they leave the lake and return to the stars” (donde “las luces caen del cielo” y “antes del amanecer salen del lago y regresan a las estrellas”) and where they held certain rituals. While developing this activity the pilgrims found a “large tomb” in which they were able to see the “body of a giant”.

Un descubrimiento extraordinario: ¿El anillo de un gigante de la era inca?
El presente artículo da cuenta del extraordinario hallazgo de un anillo de gigante en una montaña sagrada que le fue comunicado al ingeniero Celso García Vargas en Ollantaytambo –a unos 90 km al noroeste de Cuzco, ciudad capital del Tahuantinsuyo–.
El informante habló de una peregrinación que realizó un grupo de lugareños a una montaña asociada a un lago donde “las luces caen del cielo” y “antes del amanecer salen del lago y regresan a las estrellas” y donde se realizaron ciertos rituales. Mientras desarrollaban esta actividad los peregrinos encontraron una “gran tumba” en la que pudieron ver el “cuerpo de un gigante”.
